Microwave Toffee Apples
INGREDIENTS
- 10 medium apples
- 450 g or 1lb caster sugar
- 150 ml or 2 tsp water vinegar
- 2x5ml or 1/4 pl pinch cream of tartar
MICROWAVE
TOFFEE APPLES METHOD:
Put a wooden skewer
into each apple. Put the sugar, water, vinegar, and cream of tartar into a
large bowl and heat on HIGH for 5 minutes. Stir until all the
sugar has dissolved.
Heat the
mixture on HIGH ( about 8-10 minutes ) without stirring until it reaches the
hard crack stage.
If the mixture boils up in the dish, open the door and leave to cool for a few seconds then continue to heat. Remove the bowl using oven gloves. Quickly twirl the apples in the toffee until well coated. Place on a greased metal tray to cool and become hard.
