Microwave Steamed Sponge Pudding
INGREDIENTS
- 100 g or 4 oz soft margarine
- 100 g or 4 oz caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 150 g or 6oz self-raising flour
- 4 x 15 ml or 4 tbsp milk
Microwave Steamed Sponge Pudding Method:
Lightly grease the pudding basin and in a mixing bowl combine all the ingredients.
Beat well until smooth and creamy. Tip into the prepared basin, smooth over the top, and cook
on MEDIUM for 7 minutes. Turn out into a plate and pour over the desired topping
TOPPINGS :
Golden syrup: Warm 4 x 15 ml ( 4 tbsp ) golden syrup on HIGH for 30 seconds.
Jam: Warm jam on HIGH for I minute then pour over the sponge.
VARIATIONS :
Substitute 50 g ( 2 oz . ) flour for cocoa powder for a
chocolate sponge.
Note: if you wish, you can put the topping in the base of an unlined but lightly greased basin.
