MICROWAVE KIPPER PATE

INGREDIENTS

  • 375.9  or 12oz boil–in–the–bag
  • kipper fillets
  • 225 g or 8oz cream cheese
  • squeeze lemon juice
  • pinch paprika pepper
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 1-2 x 15 ml or 2 tbsp cream 

Microwave Kipper Pate Recipe Method:

Rest the bag of kippers on a plate, pierce the bag, and cook on HIGH for 4-5 minutes. Leave to cool. Remove from the bag and turn into a basin.

Discard any skin or large bones, then mash with a fork. In a separate bowl, cream the cheese until soft. (Heat for 30 seconds on HIGH to soften)/Gradually blend in kippers, lemon juice, and peppers. 

Note: If you have a liquidizer or food processor, place all ingredients in the bowl and process until smooth. Mix well until smooth, blend in the cream, and adjust seasoning to suit taste. Pile into a serving dish and chill or divide between individual ramekins/Top each with melted butter and when chilled garnish with gherkin fans or lemon slices.
