Microwave Custard Tart  Recipe

INGREDIENTS

pastry :

  • 150 g or 6oz plain flour
  • 50 g 2oz custard powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 25 g or 1oz margarine
  • 25 g or 1oz lard
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1-2 x 15 ml or 1-2 tbsp water

custard :

  • 4 eggs
  • 50 g or 2oz caster sugar
  • 400 ml or  3/4 pl milk
  • few drops of vanilla essence
  • grated nutmeg 

Microwave Custard Tart Method:

 Sift together the flour, custard powder, and salt. Rub in the margarine and lard, until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.Add the egg yolk and enough water to mix to a firm but smooth dough.Turn out onto a lightly floured board and knead lightly.

Roll out and line the flan dish, and trim the edges. Cook on HIGH for 5 minutes until dry. In a jug mix together the vanilla essence and milk Heat on HIGH for 3 minutes. Beat together the eggs and sugar. 

Pour in the milk and stir well. Pour the egg mixture into the flan case and sprinkle the nutmeg on top. Cook on LOW for 15 minutes.
