Auto Weight Cooking In Microwave

There are auto-weight cooking categories that will automatically calculate the times and power levels for roasting and cooking the main food items. Foods should be cooked by selecting the correct power setting and calculating the cooking times from the charts given for the food. To use these settings, select the food category and your preference for the degree of cooking. Prepare the food, place it in the oven, then tap in the weight in either kilos or grams or if you prefer to work in imperial measures, press the converter key and set the weight in pounds and ounces.

Once you have converted to pounds and ounces, unless power is disconnected, the oven will remain in imperial measures. The auto-weight programs are designed for fresh foods, from the refrigerator you wish to cook defrosted foods in this set allowing the food to stand for 20 minutes before cooking. If you have defrosted by weight, remember to reweigh the food as it will weigh less when defrosted.

Meat and poultry should always be placed on a low rack in a shallow dish. Microwave roasting sets are ideal to use on Auto weight settings. Meat, poultry, and fish can be shielded during cooking with small pieces of foil held in place with wooden cocktail sticks. Meat and poultry over 1.6 kg (32 lb. ) should be turned after half the cooking time.

Cover meat with the roasting dome or with a roaster bag split up one side and tented over the meat. Fish should be arranged in a single layer and covered with cling film. At the end of cooking allow all meat and poultry to stand wrapped in foil (shiny side in) for at least 15 minutes. For larger items allow 5 minutes per 450g (1 lb.).
