Microwave Macaroni Cheese Recipe

Microwave Macaroni Cheese 

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 g 6 oz quick-cook macaroni
  • boiling water
  • 100 g 4 oz bacon,
  • diced 1 onion, sliced
  • 40 g 1 ½  oz flour
  • 600 ml 1 pt milk
  • 150 g 6 oz cheese, grated
  • 50 g 2 oz
  • breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper 

Microwave Macaroni Cheese Method:

Put the macaroni in a large bowl. Cover with boiling salted water and heat on HIGH for 5 minutes. Drain. In a small basin heat the bacon and onion for 3-4 minutes, stir into macaroni with the flour, milk, 100 g ( 4 oz ) cheese, and season with salt and pepper.
Pour into a souffle dish, sprinkle with cheese and breadcrumbs, and cook for 5 minutes on HIGH.

Note: This is a quick method. The traditional method can also be prepared in Step 2. using 1 pint of White Sauce and stirring this into macaroni, bacon, and onion. Complete the recipe as described in step 3.
