MUSTARD CHOKO PICKLES 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 chokes 
  • 2 large onions 
  • 2 tablespoons cooking salt 
  • 1 cup water 
  • 1/3 cup plain flour 
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard 
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric 
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 
  • 1 cup sugar 
  • ½ cup golden syrup 
  • 2 cups brown vinegar 

 MUSTARD CHOKO PICKLES RECIPE:

Peel cookies, cut into 1cm pieces, and cut onions into 1cm pieces Combine chokos, onions, and salt in a bowl, and stand covered overnight Drain, and rinse well under cold water Piace choko mixture in pan with water, and bring to boil, reduce heat, simmer covered 15 minutes Biend four, mustard, turmeric, cloves, and sugar with vinegar and golden syrup Add to choko mixture, stir until boiling reduce heat simmer uncovered 30 minutes or until mixture is thick Pour into hot sterilized jars, seal when cold 

Makes about 6 cups
