STIR-FRIED CHILLI GARLIC STEAK WITH POTATOES
INGREDIENTS
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried chili flakes
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon dried shrimp paste
- 4 baby potatoes
- 2 tomatoes, peeled
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 500g rump steak, thinly sliced
- 6 green shallots, chopped
- 3 cups ( 240g ) shredded Chinese cabbage
- 125g bean sprouts
- 375g packet of fresh egg noodles
- 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce
STIR-FRIED CHILLI GARLIC STEAK WITH POTATOES METHOD:
Blend or process onion, garlic, chilli flakes sugar, and paste until smooth. Boil, steam or microwave potatoes until just tender; cut into quarters. Cut tomatoes into wedges.
Heat half the oil in a wok or pan, add onion mixture, stir - fry for 2 minutes. Add steak to wok in batches, stir-fry until well browned and tender; remove from pan.
Heat remaining oil
in a wok, add shallots cabbage, sprouts, and tomatoes, stir - fry until cabbage
is wilted. Return steak to wok with noodles, stir in sauces, stir - fry
until heated through. Serve with potatoes.
Serves 4.
Note: Recipe best
made close to serving.
Freeze: Not
suitable.
Microwave: Potatoes are suitable.
