Cyclic Defrost Food In Microwave

All Digital Microwave models have Cyclic Defrost. To use, touch the DEFROST pad and set the desired time. The oven will divide the defrost time into eight stages, 4 defrost and 4 stand periods. During the programmed time the oven will alternate between defrost power and stand times ( no power ). However, the light will be on and the turntable will rotate at all times. Follow defrosting times and directions given in this section.

DEFROSTING MEAT

Meat should be frozen in moisture and vapor-proof wrapping materials. Small items such as chops, hamburgers, etc., should be frozen in single layers.

Turn joints of meat over 2- or 3 times during defrosting. Shield edges and unevenly shaped ends of roasts with foil halfway through defrost cycle.

Remove meat from the original wrapper and place it on a microwave rack set in a shallow dish. Touch DEFROST and set it for the time recommended in the chart.

Halfway through defrost cycle break apart cubed or minced meat, separate chops and remove the meat that is defrosted. Large roasts may still be icy in the center, so allow them to stand.

DEFROSTING POULTRY AND GAME

Poultry and game should be frozen in moisture and vapor-proof wrapping materials. For best results, chicken portions should be frozen in a single layer. Remove poultry or game from the original wrapper and place on a microwave roasting rack set in a shallow dish.

Also, break apart chicken portions and remove small pieces such as wings which may defrost before larger pieces. Rinse poultry or game under cold water to remove ice crystals.

DEFROSTING FISH AND SEAFOOD

Fish and seafood should be frozen in moisture and vapor-proof wrapping materials. Small items such as scallops or prawns should be "free flow" or frozen in a single layer. Remove the fish from the original wrapper. Set fish fillets on a microwave rack in a shallow dish.
